Six-Fingered/Man Alive!/How'd I ever get along with five?

January 28

16mi, 1:47:08 (6:42/mi): MTPO augmented up river. Good run with Biz. Felt relatively strong. Very cold, but at least it wasn't as windy as yesterday...

Week: 70mi/6days. Slabbaj Shout-Out to Marie Brandewiede for making it to about 5 different cheering spots on the point to point 3M Austin 1/2M while Schof was motoring along en route to his 1:09:27.

Wow, I wish I had 6 fingers. But then one hand might feel inferior to the other...

Sunday: 4 miles, poopy. Perhaps this only running once a week thing is what's making the runs feel bad. Super windy on certain directions, and I got sort of lost wandering through Lincoln Park trying to recreate a route from last week.

Week: 7 days since I sent my computer in to be fixed; 4 days spent in the archives with stupid loaner computer; almost 5 full consecutive days without talking to anyone but librarians. Chicago is awesome.

Jan 28: Polished off another fine week of skiing with 3hrs of classic technique (30-35k?). A fine and lovely day. My 4th of 6th ski patrol assignments for the winter -- great excuses for LSS.

Week: Skiied 7 days totaling 9hrs. Good mix of skate and classic. I also RAN for the first time in 2007. 3 miles. Skiied to town on Wed. ran to the post office and skiied home. Hazah!

6 (41:02) A&W Mod. Felt horrible. Really not good. But the legs felt fine, and that's a good thing.

Saturday, Jan 27: Frozen testicles half-marathon in St. Paul, 1:35:change including some plodding to get to the line. No one told me that there were going to be hills. There were hills, many of them actually, including what seemed like one long uphill from mile 4 to the turnaround. The corresponding downhill did not make up for this. Exempting the marathon, by far the worst I've felt in my out-of-shape racing days, and my hip and achilles on my left leg are not happy with me two days later. Are you supposed to train for these things?

4-5xweek runs start February 1 so long as the body heals up in the next couple days.
