Waltzing Matilda

October 10

AM: 5mi, 35:52 (7:10/mi): Default with Nick and Jessica. Chhhhhiiiillllllyyyy.

October 9

15mi, 1:31:04 (6:04/mi): Ford-Washington + xtra. 60min @ tempo (aprx. 5:45s). Decent workout in the dark. Briefly paused the tempo section about 5min in to chat with a runner so dedicated that he was out there putting in the miles only a week after his debut marathon. Nice work, Sherman. Also saw Betsy.

Perfect weather today. I'm real glad to be running. 52 minutes at flying over the trail pace felt easy. My new shoes are nice. Keep plugging away boys.

Tuesday: AM workout, I was the only one who showed, but Matt took pity on me and let me do hill intervals instead of a 4-mile tempo run. 6xhill; felt harder than it should have. I think Monday's massage messed with my running abilities.

Long walk with Oscar afterward; 4xpicking up poop daily.

Monday: 6ish, easy, cool and beautiful out. One credit card from Tom during the run, and a story that tugged the heart-strings. Sore as hell almost immediately after as it was the first post-marathon jaunt and all the latent crap in my legs decided to come out and party.

Tuesday: 5ish, slow and sluggish, cool and kinda dreary. Uneventful.

Thursday: 6ish, easy, cold and windy. LSCC run plus a pre-run run from work to the LS. A medium pizza sans much of the crust and an intellectually-consistent explanation of my voting habits at CP afterwords, then baseball-watching.

No watch on any of these puppies. Aspirationally, I'll be getting my ass out the door 4-5 times a week, leaving concerns over time and distance to the scientific formulas.

Saturday: 3ish with Lundberg. Ouch. 2 miles of tooooo fast, plus another of tired slowness.

8 hours of driving for the weekend. I'm pooped.
