B-1 is for the good girls

April 1

17mi, 2:00:41 (7:06/mi): Legend of Minnneapolis. Beautiful run with Schrades and Gehring, putting the city together. Fishouse/Isles/Pirates/Greenway. Legs felt pretty good after the trails yesterday. Hadn't intended to run this far, but have felt increasingly better over the course of the week. So that's good.

Week: 83mi. Now, at some point we must have a plan. We must have a plan even if it is wrong.

While recording, trumpeting, or disclosing a 36 mi week in light of Mr. Church's last two days seems a little silly, it is what it is. The romp through Hyland Park sounded swell. Swell?

Consistency is gold to me right now. This was 5 consecutive days with 13+ hilly miles in 1:30 on Saturday and a 3 mi. tempo run mixed into Thursday's run.

As I continue to build base, and lengthen my long runs, I'll keep alternating weeks with hill work and tempo runs. Hopefully, these "workouts" will build some strength in subtle ways as I remain focused on adding volume.

In 2 weeks I've got a trail half marathon to run as well. Should be fun. Swell even!

Because it appears as if the tendons connecting my knee to my leg have all but dissolved, I stationary-biked 59 minutes. I was accompanied throughout by an overweight Greek man on the recumbent bike next to me who snorted and coughed in a delightfully mucus-filled manner. He did a fab job of ignoring my stares of contempt and disgust.

This, however, is not the cause for my post. My post is inspired by the occurrence of all three Church children in my dream last night. I was excited to see you all at the Rutgers game, but for some reason not surprised.

April 2. Opening Day
AM: 8+ (58:40) Str8 Shot. Yep, still feeling the mileage, but things ironed themselves out as the run continued. It took about 5 miles, but then I got warm and felt better. It was rather cold, considering a week ago it was 81.

PM: 4+ (29:59) Corner Grocery Store. Ran up to the corner of the GC with Biz, who was just back from running a lot. Pace wasn't an issue, so we ran pretty slow. Again, after a little bit of running, things started feeling much smoother.

10 (1:11:23) LSCC+ That open-air stadium wouldn't have been so great tonight. Here's hoping global warming takes care of the SNOW in APRIL before then. Anyway, run was nice, other than the hurricane force winds that nearly knocked everyone off of the stone arch bridge, the absurd wind chill, and the SNOW. Followed by campus pizza, a Twins victory and ice cream. Did I mention it was SNOWING?

No, Biz, the problem is that it's snowing. After it's 81 degrees, it's not allowed to snow anymore. April isn't necessarily a problem, but if it's been 81 in March, then snow in April is a problem.

8 (53:53) Stone Arch 8. Saw a dead fish on the sidewalk of (where else?) Marshall near the "Marshall Arts" building. Strange. Need to explore a route that's 12 to make a dead fish dozen run. Will work on this in the near future. Also noticed that this run goes over 7 sets of train tracks. Interesting because it's 7. One of the sets goes into a building and stops, which is why you don't cross that set twice. That or I missed one.
