Eating French Fries By The Dock Of The Bay

March 18-31

Seven runs, six of them 30-min and one 15-min. Two yoga classes. Busy schedule and slippery snowfall derailed my normal schedule, but I'd expected that would happen was glad to spend two weeks remembering what it's like to run for half an hour. Running between 7- and 7:30-pace is generally easy and pain free as long as give myself time to stretch and otherwise lick my wounds. I say to March, Good Riddance.

April 2: AM: 16 min up, 3 x GC w/ 1 min recovery, 16 min down. 13:30, 12:39, 12:29. It's about a 2.25 mile loop with some hills. Idea was to ease in with the first one at about 6 min pace, and that was right on. The next shoulda been about 12:45 or mp, and that was close. The last one was intended to be faster, and was for a while, but I ended up with a bit of a stitch and despite fighting it, slowed down. Generally though, a pretty decent workout. Legs are still kinda sore and tight, but not bad.

PM: LSCC 45:51, 'bout 6. Nice and easy. Unfortunately Jill lied and didn't show up.

April 3: MTPO w/ 8 x 30 secs hard interspersed throughout the run. 1:13:38. Aside from those 4 mins of fastness, it was pretty slow. Felt good to get in a little turnover, but my legs--particularly hamstrings and calves--are still real sore. Maybe someday they'll feel good again. In any case, takin' the rest of the day off and tomorrow will be super easy. Bedar.
